If he falls on a novel, does he become a Dust cover? [Visual, Open]

[The scroll opens with Dust standing in front of a shelf packed with books. He's in the library, which as he has been told, is a place where you can get books to read. Dust had managed to miss the part where Twilights live in the library, but truth is, he's unclear on the concept in general.]

[Falana had no libraries, you see, and Dust has technically never read a book in his life.]

This... seemed like a good idea at the time, but does anyone have any advice on where to start?

[So she's picking off various books that are mainly action, adventure, fantasy, suspense, mystery, science fiction... haha, pony noir - she wondered how that worked. She also grabbed a history book.]

Yes. That would be a brief synopsis of the story. It's written in a way that hopefully draws the reader in.

That makes this a lot easier. Is this sort of thing common knowledge... or am I just that out of the loop?

In some places, it is. However, some other worlds might not have these synopsis available. You would have to rely on instinct.

I'm guessing you come from a world that has a lot more to do with reading than Falana did. Not that it was really anyone's fault back there.

It's... not a pleasant place, any more. General Gaius's army has done so much damage to so many places... towns burned out and few survivors left.

He almost succeeded.

That's putting it mildly. Overwhelming numbers, ruthless brutality, and for what? Something so petty and vile at the same time...

It generally is. I can't think of a good reason off the top of my head to erase people en mass just because one doesn't exist.

[Erase? She has better grammar than that.]

What reason could there possibly be... [Dust ground a hoof against the floor, wings snapping up from beneath his cloak. Yes, this still really bothered him even now, a year after coming here.] It was monstrous. That's all, there was nothing behind it but evil, no matter how they tried to color it!

Still, people who perform these acts will try hiding it by 'reason' and propaganda. Those who are born after these atrocities will not easily understand.

Funny thing. I never even knew what General Gaius used as his excuse. Not really.

But it's done now.

Then no need to linger on it. Document his atrocities into history and make sure his actions aren't repeated.

I'm mostly in the wrong world for that. I'm not sure Equestria can benefit too much from the specific case.

No, it wouldn't. Once you return home however, it will be somewhere to start.

...I don't think I'll have time. The Sen-Mithrarin's destiny is to go where he's needed. I died defeating General Gaius, so probably I won't go back to Falana unless it needs a blade.

The important part was defeating him, not living to tell about it afterwards.
