[There have been a lot of apologies going around since they'd managed to reforge the 'Fire of Friendship' to drive off the Windigos. Donna's been holding off, too embarrassed to join in the chorus, but there's really not a way to avoid it. At least she can limit the apology proper to the members of the commune. Everyone else? Well, there were a lot of people who could help with building.]

Hey, everybody. This is Donna Noble from the Ponyville Commune. We had some trouble recently and are looking for any help we can get to organize a building party. This isn't just for the commune, though, it's something I'd like to put together for something more regular in case any of us need the help. With everything we've faced since getting here, with as kind as the ponies in Ponyville are, I think we owe it to them to have some sort of, I dunno, on-call group. A bunch of us who'll come and fix something up if it gets knocked down in the latest invasion or whatever. If you'd like to help, please let me know. I'll be setting something up for the commune soon. I know the Agency needs some work for expansion, too, that we could see to helping with after that.


Locked to Commune Residents
[Donna takes a deep breath before addressing the scroll this time.]

Donna, here, again. I just wanted to say everybody at the Commune that I'm sorry. I'm the one who half burned down the barn. I'll see to setting it right, help or not, but... I-I need to get ahold of the powers I've suddenly got. They're dangerous. I think I should probably leave for a bit until that's sorted. Plenty of nice caves in the Everfree. [Her smile is more half-hearted than she meant it to be.] I want to make sure the repairs happen, but after that, I'll see myself off just until I can figure out a little more control. Nephenee, I'm more than happy to keep track of the commune's finances still. Just might be a little more work communicating via scroll.

Oh. I just figured somethin' got blown over in the storm.

How'd you catch magic from someone?

I think it was this rock she had that's supposed to be her dad, and my body inherited something from that. [Okay, that sounds ridiculous even here.] I'm still trying to figure out the specifics.

[millionbitpipes]

Ooookay. Serves me right for askin'.

You got a better handle on it now, at least? [He's not totally clear on if she would have lost control of the fire thing normally, or how much of that was due to Windigos. Lots of people did stupid things due to Windigos.]

I haven't set any other buildings on fire... [Towels? Perhaps a bit. Donna coughs.] I think I'm going to go stay in the Everfree for a little while. [Totally casual about this. People do this all the time.] Clear my head. Have Twilight and Terra help me learn to control it better.

...you can't go live in the Everfree. No one lives out there.

[Well, maybe Zecora does? He thinks? But he doubts Donna'll be bunking with her anyway so that's not really an argument in favor.]

Dante does. [See, she knows people.] And Zecora. And Bertie. And Zetta. [There are probably other people out there, too. Probably. Maybe. They might be dragons.]

Dante and Bertie live on the mountain. AND Dante's a dragon. And Zetta's at least got a castle - where're YOU gonna stay? There's monsters out there, y'know.

[Zecora he doesn't have much of an explanation for, except that it seems to fit her whole mysterious witch doctor schtick.]

I was planning on staying in a cave, actually. Anyway, I know a Diamond Dog. I could ask her to find me something. [Of course, getting in touch with Ruby might be a problem. Harvey doesn't need to know that.]

Oh, a cave! Well, you didn't say you were goin' to live in luxury.

[he is being so sarcastic]

Batman lived in a cave. It was cool.

[Sort of. Maybe a little bit.]

Depends on the Batman. [Yeah he lives with a comic nerd.] You'll probably get the "cold, damp, and full of bats" type.

Aren't you a ray of sunshine? Sorry. [She flicks an ear and pretends to listen off-scroll.] Yeah, that was your optimism calling just now. It's been looking for you all week near the pond. It heard there were a lot of wet blankets out there.

Is it keepin' your good sense company out there?

My good sense and I have been having tea all afternoon, thanks. I have thought about it, you know? I'm getting a sleeping bag and a backpack... and things.

Look, I'm just worried about you. It's pretty wild out there - I got torn up by a timberwolf one time just walkin' past the border. I know you've got magic now, but uncontrolled fire doesn't really seem like the best thing in a forest.

[thedoctorsmate]

It's not really safe in a commune filled with wood, either. [And so they are at an impasse. Donna sighs, frustrated.] Maybe I'll go live in the diamond mines, instead.

[millionbitpipes]

You oughta stay where there's people who can help you. Maybe Dante's got a guest room?

[That seems like a decent compromise between cave in the Everfree and ridiculously fire-prone commune.]

You really want me to intrude on the love nest they've got on out there?

[She's not that rude, Harvey. She doesn't even know Bertie that well. Or Dante, for that matter.]

I'd rather that than more fires.

[thedoctorsmate]

You realize I could set them on fire? It probably won't hurt the dragon, but the pegasus looks a little more flammable.

[Look, she's trying to make an effort not to torch your friends, Harvey. Show a little gratitude.]

You would not set them on fire.

[He's like. Pretty sure. Right?]

Not on purpose. Kind of missing the point of my 'I can't control it' thing.

Do you think you would've lost control of it if there weren't windigos outside?

[She pauses long enough to consider the question for an honest answer.]

Maybe? I dunno. If something got me riled up enough, probably. That's what set it off. Getting angry. Guess I'm lucky no one's been too much of an idiot around me since last October.
