[Accidental Video] -7th Shadow- Get to me...
[The feed opens on Crmsn talking to a photograph rather abruptly.]
-even reminds me of Serre a bit...definitely has that same tenacity as the kids. You'd never think they'd run out of steam. I think you'd like her. She's gettin' married soon too...I know right? Never thought I'd have the chance to give someone away at least for another twenty years.
[He's sitting by the window of his room, half draped across the sill in the early morning light, with a stuffed purple rabbit nestled up in the crook of one of his forelegs, and smiling wistfully at a photograph.]
Hey love...It was Valentines Day recently y'know. Well...not what they call it here, but the sentiment is the same....
[He shifts a little and softly taps the photograph with a hoof.]
Wonder what you did for yours. Probably would have spent it in the lab, working on the next big project. Heh...y'know that's something I miss the most I think. Sitting back to back in the lab and knowing you were there. That any time I could just turn around and smile at you and...and you'd look over and smile back.
[His voice softens considerably.]
...I miss you, love. I miss the kids...I miss our home, and our friends. There's a big gapin' hole in my heart...I keep tryin' to fill it up, but after a while...there's just nothin' to grab onto. Isn't anything I can do about it either.
[He sniffs, then scoffs a little and covers his eyes with a hoof. Voice going from low to strained.]
I feel like I'm slowly losin' your face. I think that's the biggest hurt. All I have is this damn photo...this world couldn't even let it be normal...had to mess with it and make it different too. I think if it wasn't for that magic of yours I'd-
[He shifts to reflexively rub at his chest, a pained expression pulling across his face.]
You're so close and so far away. I can't reach you...m'not gonna stop trying though.
[He takes a shakey breath and lets it out hard...then pulls the photo up and gives it a gentle kiss. He settles on the sill, half cradling the picture and the rabbit protectively.]

[He carefully takes the tag and crest in his hoof and turns it slowly.]
Man...I remember the first time I saw the crests. We had gone to the Digital World to learn about what kinda digimon I'd become. Learned really quickly just how hard it was to control anything past my In-Training there...
[He laughs and smiles at her.]
Virus attribute on top of a member of the Dark Area. Makes it a mite difficult.
I'd show you my crest and tag but...the tag is locked up with my Ultimate form...and I think my friend might have stolen my crest...

Oh really...? What happened?

[He blinks and looks off for a moment.]
Oh uh...well...okay so apparently my tag and crest..the crest of Loyalty, was used to seal up the ultimate level of the digimon I can become. Apparently it's just a wild and out of control digimon to begin with and tried to pull a coups once apparently.
[He looks up, recalling the event.]
Well my first time entering that level, my friend...he wasn't one of the good guys originally and was always looking to get stronger and had the power to steal other peoples abilities...so when I digivolved, our friend turned on me and...tried to steal my power. What I think he ended up stealing from me was the crest...I think.

How...How did you get your crest?

[He rubs at the back of his head.]
That wasn't my doing...it was the original crest bearers. It was actually a friend of my wife's that gave me my digital form...not that she asked if I wanted it. Of note, never crack wise to a digimon that can use magic.
[He laughs weakly then sighs.]
The first time I changed forms...I kinda...lost myself. It was like being trapped in my own mind, surrounded by darkness that I had no control over...As purple prose as this is going to sound, I was literally lost in a sea of shadows that were trying to drown out everything that was me...all the while there was this light I kept trying to reach for. Couldn't tell you why. Eventually I managed to fight back enough to grab hold of it. I woke up with it in my hand, and my friends looking down at me looking a little worse for wear.

S...S-So...was it like a...a Dark Digivolution?

[He laughs a little, but it slowly turns...uneasy as he looks off and rubs his cheek with a hoof.]
Sounds weird sayin' that...but it was. Things got sketch when the accident happened too.

[He looks down and around searching for the best way to try and explain it.
But sometimes things are better shown rather than told...he holds up a hoof and focuses the shadows into his hoof. Like a living being they slip up and coil around for a moment before taking the shape of a butterfly that gently flaps through the air.]
When everything began...I was a human, and I was a digimon...I wasn't able to do things like this.
[He points to the table where the butterfly alights and then shifts and splits into two forms...a person, and a ryuumon.]
The two were exclusive, I could only use my digimon powers when I turned into one...that line got blurred when the two forms got...
[There's a brief moment where the two forms struggle before being drawn straight into one another forming a man shape with wings, a tail, and claws.]

O-Oh my goodness...

It was a rough time...I was trying to settle down, pull my life back together...all the while battling this...head-rush of power. It's really hard to explain without sounding like I'm a bit crazed myself.

Needless to say it was resolved eventually, but a few things stuck. The appetite, the teeth, the powers...I'm stronger, but my body cannot keep up with it if I go all out.

[Crmsn frowns, and it just seems to darken a shade as something dawns on him slightly.]
Y'know, something has been bothering me about Calice since the last dive into her...it was how easily she wrested my shadows from me.

[He let out a 'hmph' and a 'huh' and chewed at his bottom lip for a moment or two before continuing.]
See the thing is, I'm good...I'm really good. There was only one person who had ever bested me using my own shadows and he's a universe away. Even then...I was still able to get back control. This was like she took the reigns out of my hands and I was helpless to watch...
