19th Paradox [Visual] Forward dated to the morning of the 4th
[Marty looks... sad today. Not that it's entirely unusual, but he can't bring himself to even look right at the scroll when he opens it up.]
Hey, so I might just be jumping the gun here, but does anyone know how to sell a house? I probably won't be able to pay the bills here by myself.
[He attempts to say this casually, but judging by how he's rubbing his arm and still not actually looking at the screen, something must be up.]

visual
[Of course that's Doc's voice almost immediately. You're scaring him, Marty.]
visual
[Well when he tried to contact her she never responded.]
visual
[This is a worrisome thing.]
I wouldn't sell the house just yet, give us some time to search first---but if necessary, you have a home right here.
visual
Right, I'm sure I'm just being paranoid. [But then he registers the offer.] You don't have to do that, Doc. I mean the house is still here.
visual
[Here he still smiles.]
Of course, of course. Solo living has its perks, and roommates your own age would be more appealing, but in the event you ever need a place to stay...
[Suddenly he knocks a hoof to his forehead.]
It completely slipped my mind up until now, but I had a house key made for you some weeks ago. Now would be about the right time to give it to you, I believe.
visual
Oh, I guess it can't hurt to come over to pick them up at least.
visual
[He's kinda worried about you, Marty.]
visual
[He smiles and heads towards Doc's house.]
visual
But more important than that right now is Marty. He smiles sadly.]
Come in, watch your step, one of those balls might have a mind of its own at the moment...here, have a seat.
[The chairs have also become more comfortable over the past few weeks---all those cushions he's bought have really transformed it into a cozy little disaster area.]
Re: visual
Are you thinking about getting a dog already?
[Visual]
What's the house like?
[She doesn't know this guy well enough to really involve herself in whatever emotional business it seems like he might be dealing with but perhaps a potential buyer will cheer him up.]
[Visual]
Kinda small, I guess. I mean it was just me and a couple of cats but it might fit 2-3 ponies
visual
I've missed the companionship---I don't know if any of the dogs you mentioned are still available for adoption, but if I'm going to offer myself as a candidate, I need to be prepared.
[He shakes his head.]
And speaking of companionship, it'd help if you were able to enter whenever you wanted. Here.
[And there's the key held out. He's already hooked it to a small chain.]
[Visual]
You wouldn't be asking that unless you had something else to say.
visual
[He smiles.]
Thanks, I promise I won't lose it.
[He takes it, but he can't help but fall silent quickly. It's really hard to forget about someone who just vanished after seeing them for over a year, sorry Doc.]
[Visual]
[Okay stupid question. It's probably hard to forget someone who mauled you once.]
[Visual]
So she's gone?
visual
I know I'm no replacement for her, but I'll help you look. If we do find her, though...I may need a face mask.
[Visual]
[Unless they stacked another house on top of it like they did to make their bunk beds...
Nah.]
Well, if you do end up needing to sell it, you could always try posting a flyer at Town Hall or putting an ad in the newspaper? And maybe try asking around the communes. There's probably somebody looking for a place of their own somewhere.
no subject
[Visual]
[Please don't start cheering, Cameron.]
visual
Hey, I don't think she's going to beat you up for helping to find her.
[Visual]
no subject
[Oh god he didn't kill Arcee did he?]
[Visual]
Besides, I don't think you have to worry about anything like showing the house or paperwork until you have somebody interested in buying it.
[That's probably the tricky part anyway.]
visual
[He sighs.]
That dog will help us as well...though come to think of it, that might be why she's never liked me. I fall into the category of 'dog person'.
no subject
I thought you meant -- that she --
Did she just move out?
[Visual]
Thanks, I'll go do that.
visual
[He playfully rolls his eyes.]
no subject
Ah no, she... kind of vanished.
[Kind of.]
[Visual]
[Ok he sees Marty's upset by this.]
I guess you miss her?
visual
For her to tolerate a dog for your sake...she's really something. I hope I get the chance to thank her someday.
[Visual]
[Whoops, didn't mean to lash out. Sorry Cameron.]
visual
[Wow way to paint a glorious picture of Arcee, Marty.]
visual
[His smile stretches on.]
And since you're sure it's all right with her...I'll most definitely be adopting a dog this week. Assuming the shelter still has one available.
[Visual]
[Which honestly, he would. But that's not the point.]
no subject
Right. That's --
Do you at least have somewhere to go?
[Visual]
No problem. Good luck selling the place. That's too bad you can't afford it anymore.
[Since it wasn't really sounding like he'd have wanted to sell it otherwise.]
visual

[Visual]
It's hard for me, but I'm trying to sympathize.
visual
[Yes. He's going to treat this like a job interview. A very fuzzy, cuddly job interview.]
