Stitch Nine - [Visual]
[Hey, it's this guy again. He'd traded an acoustic guitar for electric, and for a moment he's strumming a note or two to test the richness of the sound. It's just right. Well, he's clearly about to do a little ditty for everyone, but what on earth for? Was this another accident, an entry meant for someone? Don't want a song? You're welcome to close the scroll. He won't blame ya.]
[Still here? Cool. Thanks. But something's not right. Kanji does not look happy. And when he begins... he just sounds angry. Here goes.]
I've got another confession to make, I'm your fool
Everyone's got their chains to break, holdin' you
Were you born to resist or be abused?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Are you gone and onto someone new?
I needed somewhere to hang my head, without your noose
You gave me something that I didn't have, but had no use
I was too weak to give in, too strong to lose
My heart is under arrest again, but I break loose
My head is giving me life or death, but I can't choose
I swear I'll never give in, I refuse
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
It's real, the pain you feel
You trust, you must confess
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
[A short break here. He's focused on the guitar, having practiced every day. But the strums are hard, the sound of someone trying their goddamned hardest not to quit in the middle. He'd come this far.]
Has someone taken your faith?
It's real, the pain you feel
The life, the love
You die to heal
The hope that starts
The broken hearts
You trust, you must confess
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
I've got another confession, my friend... I'm no fool.
I'm getting tired of starting again, somewhere new.
Were you born to resist or be abused?
I swear I'll never give in, I refuse.

[The song demands a wail and he gives one in spades, hammering out the final notes before he grit his teeth. If he keeps this up he might wreck the poor instrument...]
[Then, he stops. He looks away from the 'camera', took a breath, and sets the guitar down a little less than gently- the amp makes a brief and terrible sound from the impact vibrations over the strings, and Kanji simply walks out of the frame. The feed dies a moment later.]

Right. 'Cause nothin' about anything that's happened feels right to me. I don't... I dunno how to explain it, so I opted for the song instead, y'know?

Look, I ain't gonna pretend I know exactly how you feel. I don't even really know the guy. But I dunno how anyone could blame ya.

I just hope this gets to who it needs to get to, but that it also helps everybody else in their own way.
Songs're good like that... what's it called, interpretation, right?

Ponies're big on stuff like that - you ever seen one of 'em break into song and dance in the street? The music just sorta starts outta nowhere. It's an Equestrian thing.

[There's a bit of a pause before he adds:]
I wouldn't mind singin' with you myself, but I don't think our genres are gonna match up.

Well, alright. We'll do that sometime then.

And thanks... y'know, for... sending this scroll.
