[This year's Nightmare Night was, to those who willingly dwelled on such things, a tiring time. With the battle finally coming to a close and the evil that is Nightmare Moon defeated once more, the biggest thing on most pony's minds is getting a good night's rest before facing the aftermath of last night's events. Jack Skellington is not most ponies. It's technically morning now, mind you, but only barely, and you're all treated to the image of one very weary-looking bat pony idly browsing the scroll network, a crumpled bumdle of papers held under one foreleg.

Well, that... could have gone much better. But! It's all behind us now, and we're already on our way to patching things up. It will be a long road, I won't deny. People... ponies have been hurt, some of them in ways I couldn't begin to understand. At the end of it all, though, I think we'll be able to look back on this not as a vile catastrophe, but a vital stepping stone towards the future.

[He shifts a little, starting to gesture with the papers.]

And speaking of the future, I do have some very compelling ideas for next year's festivities.

I'm not sure their neck would go that far back. Unless you made the whole thing a BIG headless pony, so they could just stand in the middle of it!

Interesting choice. A larger costume would make for a much more intimidating showing. Though that provides us with another dilemma: how could the average pony occupy the outfit comfortably? Perhaps have two ponies wear the two halves... no, no, that wouldn't translate well to four legs.

Hmmmmmm...they could stand on stilts?

I was just thinking that myself, now that you mention it, though something about four legs on stilts doesn't speak to me too well. Perhaps an alternate solution is in order.

Yeeeeeeeah, not too many ponies can walk on stilts. I can! But not too many OTHER ponies.

Even on two legs, it takes a surprising amount of coordination. I might have been able to manage it myself before, but now-

There might be a few complications.

Really? I think it'd be a lot harder doing it on two!
