[When the scroll flares to life this time, it's Ironclaw with a surly-looking Easy Lift at his side who are on the screen. The mare's wings have been pinned by a harness and Ironclaw has hold of a length of rope that's attached to said harness. He's keeping the mare on a tight leash, but other than looking annoyed, Easy Lift appears unharmed.]

I wished to extend a thank you and farewell to all who assisted in our efforts to retrieve our weather gem. You are friends of Griffaltar. I am leaving Ms. Lift in Equestrian custody for politicians and bureaucrats to fight out what extradition there might be. I trust she'll be enjoying a very long prison term, wherever she might end up. I-

[Easy Lift interrupts.]

They're bullies! They're liars, and they're cheats. Do you know why I stole that gem? It was to watch them twist. Griffon weather magic? You can't manage anything without the magic of the pegasi! I've heard the zebra tales, traveled to their lands. Now all of Equestria knows that griffons don't have any real magic of their own. You just play at it. And that's all you'll ever do!

[Ironclaw lets her rant, staring on passively. Clearly, he has no problem with the pegasus having her say in matters.]

This has been a very educational visit, if nothing else. We will be departing in a few hours, first to help the pegasi return Cloudsdale to its rightful place, then on to Griffaltar. For all those who helped, I trust you'll notify my government, should they come asking, that I was as recalcitrant and unhelpful as possible. I would appreciate that very much.

My officers and I will be handing back these scrolls in a little while, but we'll be available for a short while, should you wish to reach us.

Fair enough. This isn't the first time I've tussled with griffons, and I know how stubborn they can be. Apparently impressed one of 'em back home, is all. Wasn't the musical type in the slightest, though.

[She glances aside again. It's an uphill battle fighting Flare's guilt complex, Ironclaw, but no griffon could've known that over only a week.]

Fluttershy rescued Cloud Kicker. All I'd consider myself responsible for was almost cavin' the mine in on everyone.

You have impressed a griffon here if you want to tell me how you managed to start an earthquake.

[That sure is a lot of sarcasm right there.]

You tellin' me that tussle with the Diamond Dogs isn't what started it?

[You know, the thing she's blaming herself for?]

[Ironclaw gives her an incredibly skeptical look.] Diamond Dogs go stomping around in mines constantly. You really think a 'tussle' would set off something to reach the better part of your Ponyville?

...Went out that far? Mnh... I suppose it was more than just a weak cave system, then...

[She seems a bit worried at that, actually.]

[Ironclaw raises a brow.] Are earthquakes at all common in this part of Equestria?

Not... usually. This is the second one we've had in six months, though... last one was in the middle of Ponyville's annual Running of the Leaves.

[That is interesting.] Six months... The minotaurs had a minor earthquake down below about that time ago. It stopped as suddenly as it started, though. [He frowns thoughtfully.] I take it that's not thought to be a natural occurrence. I can't remember Griffaltar ever having earthquakes before that.

It corresponds with Celestia taking several ponies on an organized strike against something in the catacombs beneath Canterlot, I believe. Something happened that caused, yeah. I don't know what could've gone on this time, though.

I'll ask her about it, then. [He taps a claw to his beak.] Any chance it was the same thing in these catacombs, do you know? [And what the feather were ponies keeping down in their catacombs to cause earthquakes as far as Griffaltar?]

I... was under the impression that whatever it was, it had been put to rest in that incident...

[Ironclaw, you don't EVEN KNOW the kind of headaches thinking about the Royal Archives gets Flare. Apparently ponies go in, superheroes and cockatrice statues come out.]

[Hey, Flare, you could come out a superhero if you wanted to. Care to go for a romp? Bring plenty of yogurt.]

I've thought that about more than one dragon. Never leave the head attached or it might come back to bite you in the flank. [Ironclaw harrumphs.] Any chance it could be your pale friend at work?

Likely involved somehow, yeah. The sixty-four million bit question, though, is how...

Purchasing our weather gem at the very least. [He doesn't look amused.] A few of those other ponies found some sort of chalk like your statue creatures around Cloudsdale, though. [He shakes his head.] However she might be, I hope someone can figure it out soon.
