[Looks like he's calmed down considerably.

Which isn't saying a whole lot. He's holding a stuffed animal to the best of his ability, his ears are laid back as usual and he's pouting.]

This place is still stupid as shit. But I guess I'm supposed to get used to it or something. [Because that's what Fai would praise him for.] I'm looking for someone called Rainbow Dash, so... yeah. Someone help me find him. Or her. Or whatever. I need help figuring out how to fly right.

[This is probably a good idea, since the few times he's tried, his powers kick in the second he's off the ground and he starts bolting through the air.]

[It's no big deal to her, doesn't even register as something special. He asked, she'll do it.]

[His ears perk up, and a smile starts forming. May not seem like a big deal to her, but it definitely is to him.]

Even though I might cramp your wings up again?

[She rears back, spreading her wings proudly and boastfully.]

["Fillies" is not part of his vocabulary, but he assumes it has something to do with babies. More importantly, this chick is officially awesome. And she now has the pleasure of seeing the first dorky grin he'd had since he got here.]

I figured you were pretty fast, the way Disciple talked about it. Too bad I fucked up- I mean, busted up your wings before you could show me.

I wouldn't show you how fast I really am anyway. Don't want any of you new pegasi thinking you can do what I can and getting yourself hurt.

[She winks broadly, then spreads her wings again.]

But a little demonstration --

[Her acceleration is blindingly quick. In just a moment, she crosses from directly in front of him to a hill some distance away. A line of rainbow flames on the ground traces her path from here to there. She raises her voice to call out to him playfully.]

[He stares in amazement. So that's what he could look like if he got in control of his powers. Wicked.

Well, that kind of challenge is something he can step up to.] I bet I run faster than that. [With that he takes off galloping toward her, concentrating on whatever fears and spinning around in his head... and within the second he has not only caught up to her, but sped a circle and a bit around her to work off the extra energy. He may not have a whole lot of flying expertise, but running is definitely his forte.]

You're doing that running?

[Okay, she had to admit that's pretty wild.]

I'm a little surprised you didn't end up as an earth pony, if you've got that much power. But then again, I guess it IS your power and not your wings OR your legs making you go fast.

[He turns a bit sheepish.] Well my powers are designed to help me stay out of trouble. At least... if I get into trouble I can run away, or blast it with my screams. So I guess now I can fly away too... [God he feels so pathetic voicing that aloud.]

No no, that's not how you think of it. Running away never solves any trouble. You have to think of it like, "I'm going to keep myself out of trouble by SOLVING my troubles before they cause me too much grief!"

[...That makes him laugh.] Yeah. Yeah, I really wish that was possible.

It IS possible, and you're gonna do it. "Easy" might be a bit too much to ask, but you'll get it.

No, it's really not possible. You can't solve the problems I've got. [He groans.] I'm just lucky they can't find me here. If they could I'd be dead by now.

Aside from the fact that Equestria has plenty of its own problems, I'm also a trained mercenary. Also, you're here. Pretending the problems don't exist and hiding them is just another way of running away.

Who even cares? Does Equestria have organized crime constantly forcing people to sell out their friends, or kill people for them, or worse? [He stops short and gulps. Hah, he's an idiot.]

No, it doesn't... but who knows what's gonna happen when new people from other worlds keep showing up here? If you did, people you know might, or worse.

And it's not like Equestria doesn't have its OWN share of problems, too. We could use ponies who can do stuff like fight changelings or deal with dragons.

[He pins his ears back and shuffles his hooves.] I can't deal with dragons or fight changelings. I'm gonna be just as useless as I was on Earth. And I'd... rather just run away than fight.

[Mostly because he's terrified of getting hurt and pretty sure he'll just be a nuisance in battle like he has been in the past.]

You kinda remind of my friend Fluttershy. She'd say the same sort of things about herself -- that she's not brave, that she can't fight, that she's no help.

She's one of the bravest and best ponies I know.

[Rainbow steps up to give him a comradely slap on the shoulder.] You can be too. You just have to find out what's really important to you.

[He shuffles again.] What's important to be is my family, and none of them are here. My brothers are the only people I've ever stood up for. And.. even then, I've been in battles. And I've always either hid or run away, never fought. Even when my little brother could've gotten killed I didn't fight. I'm just pathetic like that.

....But I guess I can get better. I probably just need someone to kick my ass into shape.

Of course you can get better! You're taking the first step right now, saying that you can.

[She's slowly starting to slip into her 'trainer' voice, which is not too far from a drill sergeant.]

[Excuse him while he just... shrinks back from her a bit and mumbles.]
