[A green pony with a matted down brown mop-top appears on the scroll. From the furrowed brows, flared nostrils and fierce grimace, she does not appear... pleased.]

WHAT THE TARTARUS IS GOING ON HERE!?

[Taking a step away from the scroll would probably be a good idea...]

I can't even begin to count all the things that is wrong here! I mean, at first I thought this was a dream but then when somepony actually pinched me -- WITH THEIR MOUTH NO LESS -- I knew that this was actually real. Talking ponies? And the ones with wings? EVEN ONES WITH MAGIC HORNS?? I even saw one that brought in a raincloud! IT WAS RIGHT ON TOP OF ME!!

[She takes a moment and her hoof comes up to scrub off her hair and her face.]

Alright... you know what... considering everything else I have seen before a world of talking ponies is actually not that out there. And, hey, at least my fur color is one that I'd like. Just, in this case, I hope my friends aren't here to have this happen to them.

Also, I have to ask just one question...

Why couldn't I have been one of those cool ones with the wings?

I have some medical knowledge but no, sorry, I'm not that kind of doctor. I'm The Doctor. It's what I'm called.

First name "The" last name "Doctor?"

...boy did your parents had a weird sense of humor.

[She's actually starting to feel sorry for you.]

[He laughs just a little and tries to explain again.]

Oh no, no parents involved. It's the name I chose for myself, a long time ago. The Doctor. Though the "the" before is more of a title flare- "Doctor" is what others call me.

[He smiles and fiddles with his bow tie.]

Rrrriight. Okay.

[She sort of wishes that was the strangest bit of logic she's ever heard...]

So, wait. If Doctor is what you want people to call you, what's your real name? Is there any special reason why you don't want to use that?

[Wow Chie. You get straight to the point. He chuckles lightly.]

Well what about your name? Does Chie describe who and what you are? Or what you want to be?

Doctor is closer to my identity than any name I received as a baby.

[She's been called out on that before, yes.]

Well, yeah, but...

[She pauses, giving it a moment.]

...I don't know. I guess it would just feel like I'm trying to distance myself from my family and everybody from my home. It just wouldn't seem right to me.

I like my home, and I like my family. So... I guess I like my name, too.

That's a nice way of looking at a name. Chie.

Hopefully we'll all have the opportunity to return to our loved ones sooner than later. What world have you come from? Human normally?

Uh... human. [She was pretty quick to assume that everybody here was, but this is the second time somebody really had her question it. She gives it a moment's thought.]

I guess that means we're not the only people that got turned into ponies?

[trustme]

From Earth? Or elsewhere? Any particular century?

Just ask around when you meet the other offworlder ponies here. We have plenty of humans but a good lot of other species as well.

[like_a_dragon]

[Irritated huff.] Earth. Human. Japan. Inaba. Twentieth... no... twenty-first?

You add one more than the first two numbers right?

[She thinks she remembers that. Science wasn't really her strong suit. Neither was history.]

And I mean sure, people can say whatever they want, but it doesn't mean its true. I could say I was born on the moon, but unless you see me carrying around some moon rocks or show off a space suit most people would be able to see through the lie.

[trustme]

Then you wouldn't believe me if I told you I am not originally a human?

[He chuckles.] We are ponies at the moment. That might be reason enough to believe in the possibility.
