*He comes trotting up with a computer bag slung over one shoulder and a high tech crossbow over the other. If she looks, Kyouko will note that this guy's Cutie Mark is even a patch of binary code.*

Are you sure you're alright? I've got healing abilities.

Yeah. Gettin' better. C'mon, let's open this thing, I wanna see what it says. [ She falls into pace along with him, walking along the forest. ]

Ya got a laptop in there?

[want_a_vacation]

Yeah.

*A green aura opens the bag and removes a laptop with some sort of crystal attachment in the charging port.*

I've also got my Connection Gear, which is a lot more advanced. It doesn't have a USB port, though, so I'll have to connect it to the laptop if we need it.

... Okay. [ Whatever that does. Kyouko walks along the forest with him, looking for a good spot. ]

Jus' wanna get some distance.

You want me to check and make sure there's nobody following us? I can make sure there's no hostile wildlife around, too.

Yeah. [ She scans around for a good place to settle down. ]

*A burst of feathers later, a spear wielding Pegasus with an unearthly aura is hovering next to him...still shedding feathers. Allen closes his eyes, calling on his Persona's power to extend his senses for any living creature in the area, and to identify any that qualify as enemies.*

There. [ Kyouko glances up at the Persona before leading them into a small dip in the landscape, shielding them from the view of Ponyville. ]

Ya come from Teds' world?

The name doesn't sound familiar. This isn't one of my original abilities, though. I got it during my stay in Prospero...it's kind of like here, in that it pulls people in from different worlds. All of the newomers had the potential to use a Persona.

And my radar says there's nobody else in the immediate area, aside from a few small animals.

Ya've traveled around worlds? [ The reality of this hits her only several seconds after he says it. ] Ya gotta be extra careful, then. The Pale Pony's gonna be watchin' you.

That'd be a first.

*He sets the laptop down and boots it up. He's not going to dismiss Hadraniel just yet, though...*

I have a talent for going unnoticed.

Yeah, well, she's lookin' out for ponies who've moved between worlds. I'll bet anythin' she's got an eye on you.

Why do I always get caught up in stuff like this...?

*He sighs and shakes his head.*

Let me see that USB stick.

[ Almost reluctantly, Kyouko hands it over. She looks over his shoulder at the monitor to see what will happen. ]

*He slots it into the USB port, then tells the computer to open the file viewer. Let's see what's on this thing...*

[It seems that there is, indeed, two files:]

An executable and...a core OS program? That's strange...I think I'm going to try setting up a secondary partition so that I can run this without replacing my current operating system. I'm also going to make a backup of my computer on my Connection Gear...this could take a couple minutes.

*He pulls a strange device that looks almost like half a white Playstation controller and some cords out of his bag, connects the two computers and...proceeds to do exactly what he just said. Then he'll try to install Secret.sys as a secondary operating system...and activate Enemy Radar again while that's going.*

[ponymeisters]

[Well, most obvious response to that.]

[ Kyouko leans closer, staring at the screen. ] Seems suspiciously easy...

[ It only occurs to her to wonder now why the computer would have given up its own operating system at all. ]

No kidding. That's why I backed up everything on my laptop. If I have to, I can wipe this laptop clean and put it back to the way it was.

*He taps a few things on a holographic keyboard hovering in front of what must be his Connection Gear, scaled to be operable with hooves.*

It's also strange that this file extension is for an operating system that was popular on Earth. Why does a computer inside, ah, you-know-who use the same file types as humans?

[Look, aside from the fact that rigging a USB for a DOS system was beyond everypony who'd done it so far...no sane programmer would want to download any program into Discord's armpit. Just saying.

The screen starts to flash purple, and a loading bar begins to slide across the screen. Looks like its working, at least!]

Why does it have a computer at all? Ponies don't. There's some sorta influence but I don't know from what.

[ The loading bar pops up and Kyouko lets out a sigh of annoyance. ]

Maybe... *He hesitates, not sure he wants to say it.* Maybe that other Equestria isn't the only world the Pale Pony has absorbed. Maybe she's also taken some human worlds.

*Trying to calm his nerves, he opens up the command terminal to see what, if anything that makes sense, is going on behind the scenes on the computer.*

[Its an operating system loading. Pretty much it.

After a few moments, the screen blinked, and turned back. Suddenly, a shape appeared on the screen.]

[kuukai]

God, I hope not. ... There. Here we go. Maybe we'll get some answers.
