Yeah, yeah. [ She munches on the jerky, her eyelids drooping. ]

Listen, yer a good bear, even if I... can't think of a pun... [ Man, she really is tired. ] An' I... don' deserve that... but I appreciate it...

I'm unbearlievable.

[He's got her covered. He's also pretty tired himself, if the big yawn he gives is anything to go by.]

I think it's about time we hit the hay. Don't worry, I'll [yawn] be here all night.

[Teddie is definitely not one someone could say has an excellent singing voice, and a part of him probably knows that. That's why his lullaby comes in the form of a whistle, much like he did when they were in the dungeon. Only this time, there's a lot less sadness in his tone.]

[ Kyouko smiles a little. ] There ya go. [ Her eyes close as Teddie whistles, and she drifts off into sleep.

She only wakes once during the night, after seeing those eyes boring into her skull in a dream. She instinctively grabs the closest thing to her, and it's Teddie's arm. ]

[Teddie's dead asleep by time she grabs him, which causes him to stir in his sleep. His response is about as nonsensical as one would expect from a sleeping bear.]

No I...already ate all the pudding...

....Yosuke told me to...

[ Kyouko's heart is pounding, and she feels the many twinges as her body continues to heal.

The warm bear next to her is what helps her remember where she is, and why she's sleeping inside for once. The Pale Pony's eyes are nowhere to be seen.

She loosens her grip on Teddie but settles back down next to him, trying to brush the fear away from her mind like it's nothing. Even waking seems like being trapped in a dream or a nightmare. Or both. ]

[Once again, Teddie makes a noise much like a real bear would make, this time in the form of a yawn. He sits up and smacks his lips, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with an arm- why does his arm smell?]

Kyo-chan...?

[He'll just...rub his eyes with his other arm.]

You okay there?

[ Kyouko's quiet for a little bit, trying to decide whether to pretend to be sleeping. Then she shakes her head. ]

[Well if he wasn't wide awake before, he certain is now. And here he thought he was doing so well.]

W-What happened?! Was I snoring?! I'm sorry, just put a pillow over my mouth next time!

Shh. [ She never speaks that quietly. ] Yer fine.

[ After another few moments, she adds: ] Just a dream.

[Ooohhhhh, okay. He thinks he knows where this is going.]

Was it a dream or a nightmare?

...

Saw her. S'nothin'. [ She punches her pillow. ]

[And just like that, Teddie wished he wasn't right.]

It's okay! Well...no, it's not. Not if it scare you that bad. But you're safe here, nothing's gonna get you.

[ Kyouko takes Teddie's arm again. Smell be damned. She'll wash him up again in the morning to make up for it. ]

'm not even sure tha's true anymore. Dunno if we're here by accident or cause she wants us to be.

Doesn' matter. Doesn' matter if yer here too.

[She can have his arm as much as she wants, he'll just wash it again anyway. His other arm takes this opportunity to scratch behind his head. What do you even say to something like that?]

I think... I think it does matter.

...

Why?

[...Well, she told him to be honest.]

I don't know.

[He really doesn't.]

It's just a feeling I got in my gut, and I trust my gut a lot. I wish I had a better answer, Kyo-chan, I'm sorry...

Then ya wanna be somewhere safe?

En't anywhere for me. ... This is it.

Safe is a relative concept anyway. S'all abou' how ya face it.

That's how I used to feel back in the TV World. This...this feels different somehow. Nnnnngh, I wish I could make you feel safe, I really do!

[It's his first night and he's already failing.]

Teddie. S'okay. I told ya. Ya don't haveta.

[ She rolls on her side and looks at him in the dark. ] Why's it different?

[Why's it different? More like how isn't it different?]

Because I'm not alone.

[ Kyouko just responds by laying her head on her hooves again. ] Yeah.

[ Rolls over onto her back. ] Ow.
