[This holiday season, the scroll feed is proud to present... a bleary-eyed sky-blue pony with white bed hair that encompasses his entire head. Groggily, he pushes himself semi-upright and smacks his lips, blinking off his sleep.]

...hhh...where...where in the world am I, do you suppose?...Archimedes? Archimedes, are you about somewhe- oh.

[Enough cognisance has been regained that he suddenly notices his hoof, and he examines it for a moment.]

...mm. That's odd. I don't remember turning into a shetland pony. Let's see now...

[Finally getting up, the old equine trots around a bit, giving himself a once over.]

Beard's still here, unusual, that. The rest seems OH! Oh, that had better not be a tattoo down there. Ngh... won't rub off. No, that won't do, I'm not going through that nonsense again. Now, where I w...Hmm. Glasses still there, that's good. Pointy hat? Yes, yes, that seems to be in good nick. Bit crumpled, but nothing a goo- ...by george, is that a horn on my head?!

[Feena wipes her eyes, trying to recover from her laughing fit.]

Aw, really? That's awful. I don't think you have to worry about people freaking out over your magic here, though. Most ponies here are used to magic and such.

Ah, wonderful. Yes, this does seem like a rather friendly place to live. Very charming residents...(with the exception of the odd chinese dragon, it seems).

Yes, most of everyone here are really friendly. You won't have a hard time at all making friends. [She guesses, at least. You seem like a good man, Merlin, so she's just going off of what she knows from you so far.]

...Hey. Where are you? Would you like me to come find you and show you where the communes are, so you can get settled in? It also might make you feel a bit better to talk to someone in person, instead of on the scrolls.

Well, I appear to, um... I appear to be in a field or on a hill of some kind. I think I see a clocktower over there.

Hm... a clocktower... Okay, I think I know where you are, so I'll be there shortly.

[And with that, the visual of Feena's face disappears, and the scroll is off. And true to her word, it doesn't take her long to find Merlin, and before you know it there's a white Earth pony with green hair approaching.]

Gladly. [Feena giggles and begins walking.] So, Merlin, what's the name of the place where you're from?

Well, my current place of residence was England, circa 5th century. Not a very pleasant time and place to be around, I fear. Backwards feudal society, strong preying on the week... and no indoor plumbing or electricity.

Fortunately, we've started to turn things around a little. My young pupil, Arthur, ascended to the throne not long ago. There's going to be some real progress under his watch, I promise you that.

From what you tell me of this 'England', it's probably best you've been brought here after all, huh? I come from a continent called Elencia, and I live outside a town called New Parm.

...'Pupil'? Were you a teacher of sorts?

Why, yes, actually. You see, it started off with a premonition that the lad was going to drop into my life- and, indeed, into my sitting room, heh heh heh. Now, I knew he was going to be very important some day, but I couldn't quite tell why. So I took it upon myself to give the boy a proper education. None of those silly 'page duties' or being stuck as a squire, and not learning anything except how to wash dishes or knock someone off a horse with a bit of a stick, thank-you-very-much!

...erm, but I digress.

Ahahahaha! [Merlin, you are such a strange man.] Well, it was kind of you to take the boy in. I bet you're really proud of what Arthur's accomplished.

[Now you're going to follow Feena along a trail, which will lead the two of you to the communes. Almost there.]

Oh my yes. Couldn't be prouder, in fact.

[He sighs, having finally run out of things to talk about.]

[Sorry, Merlin, Feena's a talker. Since he's apparently run out of things to say, she guesses she'll answer any questions he has about what's happened to him. The communes can be seen in the distance.]

Well... that building up ahead are the communes. Are there any questions you wish to ask me? I've only been here a little over two weeks, but I'll help in any way I can.

Well, how is life in this world in general? I understand that magic's a little more commonplace here, so technology levels might defer... but in terms of that- and society in general, I suppose -how do you feel it compares to life back in, erm, Elencia?

Well, now, that was a bigger and heavier question than I'd intended.

Well, life in this world is peaceful, from what I've gathered so far. Though, someone told me that usually, once a month, something happens that upsets the balance. But, for the most part, peaceful.

In Elencia, magic exists as well. But people are only able to learn magic if they find Mana Eggs. [Except for her, being an Icarian and all. But she doesn't feel like gloating about it, so she keeps that to herself.] In Equestria, unicorns and alicorns are the only ponies who can use magic.

'Upsets the balance', eh? Well, I'll have to make certain to watch out for that. Considering this is a more magic world, I presume it's nothing so simple as the price of cheese going up.

[Merlin and Feena have finally reached the communes.]

Anyway, here we are! Just head into the office there and talk to one of the receptionists, and they'll direct you to your room in no time!

Oh, well, thank you very kindly, Feena. I, ehm, hope we'll meet again once I'm a little more accustomed to this new land. Ehhh-I'll try and think of it less as being kidnapped into a new world... a-aha-and more like moving oversees into a new country. Lots of new customs and such to get accustomed to...

[Feena smiled warmly.]

I'm sure we'll see each other again. Don't worry, you'll get used to everything in no time. Just think of it like you're on vacation.

[She holds out a hoof for Merlin to shake.] I'll see you around, Merlin.

[Merlin returns the hand- er, hoofshake.]
