bornofhope: Seriously, stop. Aren't you needed down in Georgia? (Can you not)

3rd Wish: Of Houses and Homes [Visual]

(The scroll immediately opens up to a worried pink filly who looks like she's been pulling her hair for the last half hour or so.)

H-hello, everyone. It's Madoka again. I'm...not really sure what happened, but Mami-san and I were eating lunch together and...and then she turned into this bright light and went away. She didn't say where she was going or anything like that! She just...disappeared. I'm really worried about her.

A-and the house, too. The bills came in today and I don't have enough money for them. And I don't want George to go hungry. Are...there any seasonal positions open? I can work after school and on weekends...anything, really. I just...

(She's been thinking too much into this, clearly. Poor kid's worrying about both the loss of her friend and the adult responsibilities she's inherited. It's a little overwhelming and the shaking filly is really not in the right mindset to deal with all of this.)

I sure do.

Cheese and crackers are okay to feed him, but there are other things you need to know to take care of him. It would be easier to tell you in person. Let's meet in town square.

[Alone. Where Giegue can't hear or see this.]

[It's not hard for Pokey to notice the girl as she comes by, let alone the relief he feels that Giegue isn't with her. The little red and black dragon walks over to her, quirking an eyebrow.]

So. You're taking care of George, huh?

What do you know about him so far? What has he said?

["Studying humans". That's a cute way to say he was prepping an invasion plan. Pokey has no clue of Giegue's past or...well, anything really aside from the basics. He couldn't begin to guess some of the legitimate truth behind those words that had occurred before the invasion Pokey had taken part in.

He's just quiet for a moment.]

Yeah, it's super cool when you first hear about it.

I need you to know something.

You? Have got to be careful around him.

[This is going to be hard. This girl probably comes from some world of bubblegum drops and sweet taffy clouds that's so saccharine and sweet that it would make this place look like a warzone.

He sighs, weary at his task at hand.]

Yeah, look. I don't know how to put this nicely but you need to be careful. George? Isn't...nice. There's things he does that aren't nice, and things he tells you that won't always be the truth.

You don't need to be afraid or anything, but you need to keep that in mind. And keep an eye on him.

Yeah. He did.

[If given the chance, he'll do them here too. Pokey supposes that he doesn't....no. Pokey does know it. It's just a matter of time. Giegue isn't someone to sit still; neither is Pokey, when given the chance. But over time and over pain and the lessons that pain brought, Pokey supposed he'd learned something.

Perhaps he had learned something Giegue never had, or something Giegue couldn't understand, though that thought never really crosses Pokey's mind for too long.]

It...he just-look. You seem like a nice person, alright? And he's a bad person...alien...thing. But, even with that, just....

[His hand tightens into a little fist as he speaks. It's hard to imagine he's going to suggest this.]

Just don't stop being nice to him, alright? I mean don't accept it when he's bad or being a jerk but...

Sometimes the best way to reach people is to be nice to them.

[If there was anything Pokey had learned over the course of nearly three years in Mayfield, anything at all? It was that despite his hatred of the concept, disbelief in it, loathing of it, fear of it...

Love was real. And if anything could change a person, love and kindness could. Nothing, in a way, could really stand up against such a force and not be moved, perhaps sometimes for the worst but oftentimes for the better.

He supposes his last sentence was just his way of trying to say that.]
