H-hello, everyone. It's Madoka again. I'm...not really sure what happened, but Mami-san and I were eating lunch together and...and then she turned into this bright light and went away. She didn't say where she was going or anything like that! She just...disappeared. I'm really worried about her.

A-and the house, too. The bills came in today and I don't have enough money for them. And I don't want George to go hungry. Are...there any seasonal positions open? I can work after school and on weekends...anything, really. I just...

(She's been thinking too much into this, clearly. Poor kid's worrying about both the loss of her friend and the adult responsibilities she's inherited. It's a little overwhelming and the shaking filly is really not in the right mindset to deal with all of this.)

It seems the natural place for a nest egg, don't you think? Or perhaps under a mattress. Nests breed so very rarely, but always in soft dark places!

[Oh look! There's a somewhat smaller cache in one of the boxes in the closet! And beneath the mattress, there's a truly insane amount of coins.]

Whoa! They're everywhere!

(Wow, that is an incredible amount of coins. If they were there the whole time, then how did Mami sleep on this thing and not destroy her back?)

Was this always here...? It's so much!

Who knooooooooooooows? Your friend isn't a PRINCESS, so she probably didn't notice!

[Only alicorns notice things under their mattresses, everyone knows that!]

(Yeah, Mami would definitely notice this much money under her mattr--wait a minute.)

That'd be strange. I've only seen people do things like that in cartoons and I don't think Equestria is a cartoon.

It would be a little silly...but it could be fun, too! There's lots of things you can do in cartoons that you can't do in real life. Like when something heavy falls on them and they walk out of it like an accordion.
