Okay, two questions. First, why is there a sweet if poorly-maintained castle in the middle of this forest, and second, mine now! Hyaaa ha ha ha ha!

I was the Overlord! Ruler of the Netherworld! The whole world was my base of power!

Over and nether're different things, though. [ Okay, now he's just teasing, he gets it. ] So you were this sorta guy who love to see people bow before 'em, then.

Well, yeah. I mean, I generally just liked the insane power, but the bowing was pretty cool.

Never mind bowing and power. I think it's more fun to just be friends with everyone. We were all good friends in the Bunch, even though I was the leader. Probably because I was the leader. [ He remembers how tense it had been when he and Sundance came back to Hole in the Wall and Logan claimed to have taken leadership. ]

There's no room for friendship in the Netherworld. Aside from it being a stupid, not particularly evil emotion, a true friend is just someone who could be used against you -- and when you get to the top of the heap like I am, the only people who are worth your time to even notice are the ones who could be a challenge if you let them.

.... [ Feel his stare of are you serious?. ] While it might not be an evil emotion, friends're a nice thing to have, y'known. It's fun to be 'round them and all. And if you're worried about them being hurt, just make sure they can defend themselves properly. It ain't necessary to be lonely on the top, right?

...Yes. It is. We're DEMONS. We're EVIL. That means no friendship!

'course it's possible to have. I'm an outlaw where I'm originally from, and even though I robbed lots of people who called me evil, I had and have friends. Does being a demon change anything?

Just means you were keeping people around who'd rat you out to buy themselves leniency. You don't get to be Overlord by opening your back up to stabbing.

Some were worse than me. And I like being able to trust people, ya know? 'course, it happened that some of my people got out of line and tried to take over when me an' Sundance were out and some were too fond of gun and knife fights, but it always got solved. And even the Overlord should have someone t'talk freely to, if you ask me.

Why would I need someone to talk to? I get plenty of socialization bossing around my underlings and mocking my inferiors. What's with the pro-social attitude from an avowed outlaw?

Of course it's cuz it's fun and relaxing to have someone to talk to without having to think about social standing an' stuff like that.

Yeah, I do. I also find it relaxing riding through the states. Well, when I'm not hunted by lawmen, but either way. But maybe you don't count that as relaxing either? [ Make no mistake there. There is absolutely no spite or anything other than cheerfulness in his voice. ] So being badass is a hobby and a job at the same time? [ Is it obvious that he does not know what 'badass' means? ]

There aren't many law enforcement agencies that operate on even a galactic scale, let alone universal. And being badass is a way of LIFE.

What'd they call the most awesome guy you didn't dare mess with on your world?

I'm from the U.S. So no, I've never been to one.

I don't think we have any like that. [ Considering he'd mess with them none the less if there existed someone like that.. ] I guess most people don't mess with lawmen, since they'd go to jail.

The Overlord IS the legitimate government of the Netherworld, which means all law and authority rests in his hands.

That how it is, huh. So's this Netherworld a country, continent or your complete world?

The whole world. A Netherworld is the home of demons in its universe, and the source of evil.

So you're a world-ruler? Did ya conquer or inherit it?

Conquered, of course. Netherworlds go to the strong. If they're inherited, it's only because the heir was so powerful already that no one dared challenge them.

People who inherit their fortunes and positions an' stuff also ain't got a clue about what hard work is. [ Is it obvious that he is not very fond of people who inherit? ]
