My fellow Equestrians!

Greetings to you all. I find the name 'newponies' to be slightly unpleasant, so I shall call you simply as you are: new citizens of Equestria. My name is Princess Luna, sister to Celestia and ruler of the night. Believe me when I say that I do indeed know your plight of finding yourself in a strange new world, a place where you do not know where you may fit in without finding trouble. However, my sister has told me that, more than anything, I will be of aid to many of you where she could not. I have had to rapidly adjust to modern society in Equestria, so while my troubles may not be identical to your own, I can certainly relate to your woes. If thou wouldst have any questions you wished to extend to the Canterlot court, then I shall do my best to answer them.

We trust that things are well in Ponyville, or wherever you may lay thy head at night?

I have been down that path before. I was stopped by my sister.

You would do best to not take her lightly.

Why is it everyone assumes that just because I declared war on her, I'm getting in over my head?!

It is because you declared war on her. One does not attack an opponent they feel they cannot defeat.

And it doesn't occur to you for one second that I might be stronger than her?

Stronger than her or I alone, certainly. There are others that have bested her in single combat, and I myself am no match for her.

Stronger than the combined force of all of us, however? It does not cross my mind as a possibility for even the briefest of moments.

Then you're the one underestimating me.

But that's not surprising. The awesome power of this badass Overlord is beyond understanding till you get a full taste of it.

Regardless, I have seen your impressive feats of power displayed over these scrolls and I stand by my judgement. I hold no doubts that it would be a brutal fight, endangering many innocents.

Regardless of who is the victor, you are certainly not one to be taken lightly.

Why would it endanger innocents? Unless you guys involve them, I'm just trying to regime change and turn this land into a Netherworld, not wreck the place up.

Then you will be holding back, or you will need to seek out a proper dueling ground.

Power such as that you have displayed is quite destructive, and a straight assault would be dangerous unless there was ample time to prepare the citizens.

And I am certain an overlord like yourself knows how stubborn nobility can get.

... battle around here must be weird and complicated. I'm entirely capable of unleashing my full power on one and only one target.

Although intense collateral damage IS always an OPTION.

Oh, that reminds me. If I destroy the moon, it'll fix itself, so don't panic. Scenery damage is purely cinematic.

Not convoluted, no... however, many villains that come around here are far less considerate and far more imprecise with their attacks.

Rest assured that we are well aware of how resilient the moon is. Bringing it into the picture is quite an easy way to infuriate us, however, so... it may be prudent to avoid doing such.

Whoa, whoa, I was bringing that up to do the opposite! If I point the full destructive force of my power downward, it does bad things to the planet, so I try to aim it skyward. But IF the moon gets caught, it won't stick. It's NOT personal.

Or perhaps you could refrain from destroying anything. That is an option, is it not?

Or think you only of your own ego-inflated posturing?

...Look, Princess, pop quiz here. Suppose any day now, someone's going to show up who is a serious threat to you. If you don't deal with them quickly and decisively, there's a possibility they could kick your ass, take your place, and --

Wait, actually I know what you'd do, because your answer is to pretend like he's no match for your Combined Forces(tm). But MY answer is to make damn sure I've got the strength necessary to maintain my position. You call it 'ego-inflated posturing', I call it 'survival'. That's how life is in the Netherworld. You stay on top or you get smashed to the bottom. And I do not go to the bottom.

Posturing is posturing, and we are as guilty as thou art.

Do you think we have not made preparations? You had made it quite clear you intend to attack, and such threats cannot be taken lightly. However, brute force is not the only strength.

In the end, it's what wins, so long as you bring enough of it.

We shall see what wins.
