What have you learned here?

I speak of both the practical knowledge of skills one picks up, the making of objects not found in one's home, as well as the personal changes that affect anyone who lives and breathes for a time.

What do you bring home from you, if you go without chance to bring anything material?

I definitely learned how to use a hammer while like this. It's a lot of new being in horse form.

Also I've found out about loads of new music, and seen so many odd things that's invented after 1908.

Using a hammer while a horse seems an unlikely skill to be useful when you're no longer a horse. Music you can keep.

Haha, yeah, but it'll be useful if I ever lose both my arms, right? Music is great, I love music.

It would be more important not to lose both your arms in the first place.

It's just a what if. I don't WANT to lose them, then I can't use my gun.

I learned how to function in a working civilization, for starters.

We tried - Merry would add "bless our little hearts -" but the Resistance back home was an army playing at being civilized.

I have been part of an army for a brief period. I would not recommend it to anyone for longer than a few months.

What I have gained is newfound knowledge of who I am, and how I am defined by my achievements, not my failures. This knowledge has granted me far greater control of my darker impulses, as well as acknowledgement that those impulses are still part of who I am, even should I deny them.

I admit, I did not expect other royalty to be amongst those who were brought to this Equestria. How do you fare?

I find your Ponyville to be quite the relaxing place. Perhaps I was merely in need of a brief vacation from my duties, but mingling among the people is a pleasure I rarely receive.

A proper skill in disguising one's self is a significant boon to such activities, I find. Being amongst those who care not of your status helps, as well, I would venture?

The nobles I currently deal with are less tiresome than the previous lot [the previous group got to be 'previous' by attempting a coup and failing], but even so, it is a welcome change to speak with those without pretensions.

I believe that you shall find that even the nobility in Canterlot is more the pomp and circumstance variety as opposed to the cloak and dagger variety. I am glad you are using your time here to center yourself, however.

Excellent to hear. There is a number of assassination attempts that is simply too many for my tastes, and that number is one.

Equestria is most certainly not the sort of place where assassination attempts are in vogue... unless you were to mean the assassination of character. Mudslinging - oft literal - and smear campaigns are far more numerous, albeit far less effective.
