Kickoff [Video/Massive Audio later]

[A green pony with a matted down brown mop-top appears on the scroll. From the furrowed brows, flared nostrils and fierce grimace, she does not appear... pleased.]

WHAT THE TARTARUS IS GOING ON HERE!?

[Taking a step away from the scroll would probably be a good idea...]

I can't even begin to count all the things that is wrong here! I mean, at first I thought this was a dream but then when somepony actually pinched me -- WITH THEIR MOUTH NO LESS -- I knew that this was actually real. Talking ponies? And the ones with wings? EVEN ONES WITH MAGIC HORNS?? I even saw one that brought in a raincloud! IT WAS RIGHT ON TOP OF ME!!

[She takes a moment and her hoof comes up to scrub off her hair and her face.]

Alright... you know what... considering everything else I have seen before a world of talking ponies is actually not that out there. And, hey, at least my fur color is one that I'd like. Just, in this case, I hope my friends aren't here to have this happen to them.

Also, I have to ask just one question...

Why couldn't I have been one of those cool ones with the wings?

[A little bit later there is a shout. A glorious shout. A mighty shout. It rings to the heavens and may even be heard as far as way as The Crystal Kingdom.]

[She gasps and is about to walk a few steps toward her when she suddenly remembered Thorax.]

YUKIKO! STAY BACK! There's a... a... I don't know what but it has to be dangerous! Come over here, quickly!!

[She hated bugs, yeah, but she will brave anything if it meant that she was going to keep Yukiko safe.]

[The unicorn and changeling looked at each other then at Chie. What was she getting at?]

Is everyone from your world always like this when it comes to changelings?

It's ok Chie, Thorax-kun is a friend. He won't do anything.

[Crud, crud, Yuki's not getting out of the way...]

[She guesses the only thing she has to do is... a full body-tackle!!]

[CHIE NO!

There was only one to do and make sure either party would get hurt: lift the new earth pony up via unicorn magic and make her stay.]

I thought I said he's a friend! Just calm down and I can explain everything to you!

[Chie was just about ready to give the OBVIOUS villain a few kicks with her front legs when she suddenly found herself lifted up into the air.]

[This was new.]

Wha-WHA-WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? What is happening now?!

[Sorry bestie, it's for your safety as well as everyone else's.]

I'll put you down but you have to stay calm, ok?

Put me dow-- You're doing this, Yukiko?!

[She saw the levitation thing from Rise, but it wasn't anything like this.]

[Also she seems anything but calm.]

[The horn glowing on Yukiko's head is a clear sign of her using her new pony given magic.]

Yes, it's me doing this. Will you listen and try to not attack Thorax-kun? I know you're scared and everything is new but I can tell you what is going on but you need to not panic.

NOT PANIC?!

I'm here, as a pony, in a land full of ponies and pegasuses and unicorns, and there's a big pale pony that's swallowing worlds, and I can't have meat, and my BEST FRIEND is using her MAGIC on me to keep me SUSPENDED IN THE AIR because I tried to HELP her.

[She's starting to rub her eyes with her... hooves. It's a style of crying that she hasn't done much of since Chie broke down and confessed how important Yukiko was to her.]

I THINK THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME TO PANIC, DAMNIT! THINGS DON'T MAKE SENSE AND THEY SUCK!

[Bestie, she's having a bad day.]

[Most would've yelled back or screamed or even talk more violent measures but Yukiko hasn't seen her best friend, her sister from another mister in almost a year. If she were to appear in Equestria, she wanted to be there to give her a warm welcome and let her know that everything would be alright. But instead there is screaming and trying to attack innocent changelings that Yukiko had no choice but to use her magic.]

Because panicking is what the Pale Pony wants us to do. And I was hoping that after almost a year without seeing my best friend that I would tell you everything so you wouldn't be scared.

[She's trying not to cry herself but it was getting harder not to.]

So please...for me...will you listen?

[And Chie floated. Suspended in everything and completely helpless. She wasn't sure whether her friend putting her there or the fact that she was so helpless in everything outside of this magic bubble that was worse.]

Well... [sniff] ...we're talking now, right?

[As if he received a cue, a snort came from inside the carriage. Yu poked his head out blearily; hunh, he had just settled in for a nap since the ride would be a long one, but he didn't anticipate that they would be stopped so quickly. He glanced around, looking around for the source, and spotting Chie floating in the air.]

Oh. Hello Chie.

[Because there's nothing weird with this picture.]

[Her attention was drawn to the voice calling her name. Oh. Even without being a pony that was obviously Yu. She took small comfort in him being here, and in spite of basically having the pony equivalent of being slapped to calm down, she found herself smiling a little. Still, she started to feel a embarrassed by the scene she was making.]

H-hey... guys...

Just sort of... hanging around, I guess?

We're all ponies, by the way.

[She gave a nervous chuckle which became a cold shiver when her eyes returned to Thorax. ]

[Oh good, Yu is making a distraction. It was enough to gently lead her friend into the open carriage and set her down on one of the seats. Of course once she set Chie down and turned off her magic, she checked on Thorax as he adjusted his straps. He wasn't too shaken, pretty much used to Chie's reaction and was more worried about getting them to the Crystal Empire on time. After she reassured him, Yukiko joined the rest in the carriage just as the changeling started on the journey again.]

Sorry about that. Now since we're a little more comfortable, we can talk better.

[We're all ponies, by the way. Yu couldn't help but smile at that statement of the obvious. He was tempted to say he hadn't noticed, but instead he nestled back in the seat as Yukiko sat down again.]

Did you just arrive?

[Were it not for her two best and closets friends looking at them -- sure with more fur and hooves -- she wouldn't even be able to set foot inside this carriage. But for right now she is awkwardly quiet. When her attention wasn't drawn to the... thing up front directing the carriage, it turned from her now ponified friends.]

[But they were still there and despite how weird everything was. Just with added snouts and fur.]

Y-Yeah... I was on my jog and all of sudden I found myself with this snout in the land of technicolor ponies.

[Her shoulders was tense and her head low. Despite her friends being there, this was just so much to take in.]

It's a lot to take in, I've been in that position too when we first got here. I couldn't even leave Yu-kun's side because I was so scared.

[Those were the days...]

But yes, we have been turned into ponies and other creatures native here. As for this place, it's called Equestria and the town we're in is called Ponyville. There are lots of puns that would make Teddie's look like a cakewalk.

[Yu gave a nod in agreement at that; Yukiko pretty much nailed it with that explanation, but...]

That's the mane problem here.

It's relatively quiet here, except that... well, things happen every now and again.

[In spite of herself, she found that she was scooting closer to Yukiko. It felt right. Even if she was much bigger now.]

[She gave a flat face to Yu that she (almost) looked as nonplussed as he normally did.]

Yeah... and you're heading over to the Crystal Kingdom, yeah? There's a big game thing going on over there and Teddie and Rise are waiting for you.

And something about a Pale Pony that's threatening to gobble up everything? Have you guys found out anything about that thing?

[Gathering info from talking to people: Chie's specialty.]

[It's okay because Yukiko was putting a hoof on one of Chie's own for support.]

The Pale Pony...I guess you can think of her like Izanami. She's this world's version of a death goddess but she eats everything instead. There's a group in Stalliongrad trying to do research on her and the artifacts called the Elements of Harmony. They're supposed to be pretty strong actually.

[Yu gave a nod at that.]

Supposedly those that disappear from this world have been eaten by her...

[Cue an actual grossed out face, because both he and Yukiko had disappeared from the place... though he swore he had returned back home. This was getting too complicated for a world full of multicolored ponies.]

We've been here for... almost a year straight, though we were here before briefly.

[Chie was starting to feel comfortable. Comfortable enough that her eyes started to droop. She was half-way sleeping when suddenly she heard something which alarmed her.]

You've been here for a year?

[Sure, she heard that earlier, but... A WHOLE YEAR? AS THE PONES SHE SAW IN FRONT OF HER? SWEET IZANAGI.]

[A sage nod.]

It was around April when the Pale Pony started bringing us in, right around when we both were in the middle of fighting Adachi. We were only here for about a month before being sent away by rainbows. But then a few months later, I came back and we had just watched Yu-kun leave Inaba. So time is really weird here.

Yeah... and I came back here about a month later, just after getting on the train.

Time doesn't seem to make much sense, but at least no one on our worlds notice we're gone.

...boy you're telling me. That was back in March. You guys are missing a whole two months.

It's May now.

Er... 2012. I guess. If you lost a year somewhere in there, too.
