[It's about two hours after the appearance of the Pale Pony, and everything that came with it. You might think that things would calm down again, but no.

This time, Flare Star fires up a scroll ~~that she basically pulled straight away from Dust~~ and starts talking, about as seriously as many ponies have ever heard out of her - the exceptions being Queen Chrysalis (who got to hear the tone when she was attacking the pegasus) and Zecora (whom she helped during Nightmare Night).]

The cards've been played. I don't know what kind of feeling that was that I felt back there, but I know it is evil. No more playing around, no more wasting time trying to understand.

I'm not saying that we don't still need to research this nag, far from it. In fact, we need to centralize our research, so that everypony has the same access to it. It's only right in times of war to allow your soldiers to know of the enemy they fight.

She pulls us all in at random, focusing on those with powers, and then every month, she culls. A few more get drawn into her, possibly for keeps. By standing before us today, by proving that she exists, she has declared war. Not on Equestria, but on every last one of our worlds.

Buck compassion, and buck caring for a pony so far gone that she'll steal souls for her own gain.

She needs to die.

And...have you considered that they CAN'T be rescued anymore? If she ate them, then she might digest them.
I hope that's not the case, but its still something we should keep in mind. Were there any other ideas of how to weaken her?

Not... yet. And yeah, I've considered that. Gettin' the spirits back seems like it might not be impossible, but the bodies... I don't know.

Spirits from inside th'Pale Pony can come into this world, but they end up in... grave rock. They're golems, not actual flesh-and-blood.

The elements of harmony are different, but still related. It's... a long story, there.

But since someone was able to talk to those people through the statues before, I think it might be a good idea to help her try again.

Yeah. 'm helpin' how I can - by stayin' the hell out of the way. She's gonna be dealin' with diamond dogs t'get more of the stuff, and it's bad diplomacy to bring along someone whose first greeting is a hoof to the gut.

Probably a good choice, I wouldn't want to bet on my chances being diplomatic either.

What's a 'diamond dog,' though?

Bout twice as tall over as a pony, stands on two legs, lives underground in areas with heavy gemstone concentration. Not the brightest bulbs in the box, but tend to be stronger than ponies and tend to see us as expendable slaves should they capture one.

[Mostly because slavery could have been something that happened in her Equestria in the days before the Celestial War, back before earth ponies were viewed equally.]

Oh, that kind, yeah I've been to that kind of place before. Parts of my wasteland were big on making themselves look good without actually bothering to get rid of the problems.

I've done that a few times, but I'm of the opinion that they should usually be exposed.

In a world like this, the anarchy y'd get by exposin' the flaws in the system would do a lot more damage than dealin' with the ponies that exploit those flaws case-by-case.

And in my world, it's even more important we keep th'mares in charge at least somewhat in charge, but if you're from a place that doesn't have magic I dunno if you'd quite understand why.

Only in the short term, if you have a plan for how to set up things once everything changes.

No, no magic where I'm from.

Kind of difficult to organize an uprising when the mares in charge have literal control over the sun and the moon. Gotta find someone else who can manage the power for those sorts of spells; back in the ancient days before the Sisters, it took an entire group of unicorns to manage it.

Yeah...that's a lot different than back home.
