[Atop the highest tower in his castle, the Overlord stands, a deep blue figure against the bright blue sky. The smirk on his face speaks of nothing but confidence and self-satisfaction.]

Hey, Equestria. Look up.

[No sooner does he pronounce those words then the leading edge of a black disc surges across the sun high above, devouring its light in increasing gulps. Within seconds of its appearance, the great blackness eclipses the sun entirely. Darkness falls across the land like a shroud.]

[Mercifully, the eclipse only lasts a few seconds before the sun peeks around the corner of whatever is blocking its light. As quickly as it came, the black disc fades, relinquishing to the star its rightful place in the sky. Whatever it was, it can no longer be seen thanks to the solar brightness.]

[On the scroll, the Overlord's smirk has only grown wider.]

That one I call Nemesis. It's a planet I've brought in, with the fortunate property that it's just the right size to eclipse the sun for Equestria from where I've dropped it. You'll see its counterpart, Antithesis, tonight, when it blocks the moonlight from you all for a little while.

[Zetta casually polishes one hoof on the fur of his chest with an abstract amusement, letting that sink in.] Oh, I'm sure you're not impressed by a short eclipse each day... but I don't expect you to be. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get these things tidally locked, so they block the sun and the moon both, rise to set. So you might want to spend the next couple of days enjoying this whole 'light' thing. Pretty soon it'll just be a fading memory... and Equestria will be plunged into eternal darkness. No sun, no moon, and no hope.

Unless your Princesses cede rulership of the land to me.

Hey, it's better than eternal darkness, right? [Zetta smiles in false encouragement, making a 'come on' gesture with one hoof.] Of course if you doubt I'm serious, then I'm sure you could just do your best to take care of the crops and the animals and the weather and all that crap despite the diminishing sun. I figure you can keep it all together just fine if none of you waster your effort attacking me. At least, until eternal darkness falls.

Two weeks, Princesses. This world as a Netherworld is better than this world as a dead world.

[Littlepip stops when she sees Velvet trembling. She's angry, too, but seeing her like this makes Pip worried.]

We'll stop him. We won't let this land become another wasteland.

[Hooboy she needed that. She shudders out a bit of tension and pulls back.]

I'm going to be joining the medics; something tells me we're going to be needing a lot of them, and soon. I know I'm not going to be able to stop you, but - don't go alone. Alex can be trusted; if you didn't know, he's from a human Wasteland. Others will be there as well.

You apparently can get a little money from the bank and purchase bobby-pins from Rarity. They're used for tailoring and manestyles.

I'll see who I can round up. I'll go ask Rarity for those and get some money to see if I can buy some ammo. Or find some. I only have Little Macintoh with me.

Good luck finding gunpowder; Alex has been complaining about that for a while. You might want to ask the Twilights for - I don't know. Bullets to sling with your TK, or something.

Another thing. Radiation is almost completely unknown here. Pyrelight is - I don't know how, but he was decontaminated in the process of coming here.

[It's not that Littlepip is angry with that, just incredibly surprised.]

...How could a Balefire Phoenix be completely radiation-free? ...Is she sick, or...?

Blessings of Celestia? He can live off the light of the Sun, now. I don't KNOW, Littlepip. I didn't even think it was POSSIBLE. And I owe the Fluttershy's a chance to pet him; Goddesses know he'd be willing.

...Then that's all the more reason to kill Zetta. Who else would be willing to help you with healing besides Fluttershy?

You're probably a lot better off using stealth than engaging directly. Zetta has magic power enough to move planets. That's... beyond the power of an Alicorn. The Princesses can probably engage him directly; you're not going to be able to win through anything but surprise, and possibly not even then.

[Magical power greater than hers? That makes Littlepip slump a little. She thought she had a little bit of a thing with being able to make herself lighter. But then again, this Zetta probably had access to more than one magic spell.]

Stealth. Okay. I can do stealth. He said he was in the castle in the forest.

The Everfree. That's another thing. It's not quite as vicious - Dame Rarity didn't even KNOW what Killing Joke was - but it's still dangerous.
